About the Artist
Blanca M. Sherwin was born Blanca Constable in 1976 in Pachuca, Hidalgo,
Mexico. Blanca moved to Texas with her Sister and Parents arriving Christmas Eve
in 1983. Blanca grew up in the Public School system where she quickly advanced in
school due to her family's dedication to Education. After High School, Blanca went
on to College where she attained three degrees, two of which are in Law
Enforcement and Jail Operations. Since graduating the Police Academy, Blanca has
worked as a Patrol Officer, Forensic Technician, Deputy Constable and now serves
as the Assistant Training Coordinator for the Mansfield Police Department in
Mansfield, Texas.
From an early age, Blanca developed a love for art and drawing. Encouraged by her
parents, she studied art in college and has become accomplished artist in the field of
ceramics coupled with her love for her children, Matthew and Seth. Blanca was
inspired to make long lasting memories using the feet and hands of children.
Community painting parties soon followed and out of a love for art came One of a
Kind Ceramics.
